I was skimming the thread which was linked in the youtube video and it seems that they didn't utilize the 32x's PWM capabilities to its fullest as they were already hitting the ceiling with the ROM's 4MB storage. One poster mentioned using an SSF2-type mapper to extend the ROM's addressable space to 6MB, which could possibly be used to expand the cartridge's music and sound. I'm not sure how much headroom the SH-2s have for further sound processing, though. It'd be interesting to hear if implemented, though.
